Andy Ravelo began his music career early 2008. His desire to sing eventually lead to him auditioning for top choirs throughout middle school and high school. Unsatisfied with just singing itself, Ravelo ventured into taking piano lessons and happened to stumble upon producing music. By the age of 11, Ravelo had recorded his first song, “You Are”, with his father in a studio in Madagascar. Three years later, he bought his first microphone and audio interface, establishing a home studio in his room. Early on, Ravelo focused on sharpening his craft by covering his favorite songs and releasing them via Sound Cloud and YouTube. However, the songwriter within him grew anxious. The desire to write and produce his own songs helped create his debut single “Carousel”, which he co-wrote and co-produced alongside his father. This song-writing/production duo is a force to be reckoned with. Born in Fairfax, Virginia and raised in Woodbridge, Ravelo is the son of hardworking parents who were born in Antananarivo, Madagascar. He inherited most of his musical abilities from his father and his emotions and the desire to help others from his mother. That soulful plea to help others can be heard in his debut single “Carousel”, which contains lyrics such as “Don’t fall in pieces. Pick yourself up off the ground”. Ravelo cites musically influences as Bruno Mars, Adele, Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Sam Smith, and Tori Kelly. He also grew up listening to a lot of his father’s favorite music, especially from the ‘80s. Ravelo had his first solo performance at the Iota Club & Café on January 8, 2016. He looks to perform more often and gain more fans. His new debut single “Carousel” will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Google Play on August 12, 2016.
